Westminster Real Estate

Welcome to Westminster

The established suburb of Westminster covers over 34 square miles in the northwest quadrant of the Denver Metro area. Famed for an 1858 gold discovery in the South Platte River Valley, the city possesses a history of opportunists, frontiersman and factory workers that built a small town into a growing hub of technology and industry. In its early days, commercial orchards were run in the area now known as Shaw Heights, and brought the town to prominence as a railroad hub. The town remained relatively quiet until the construction of the Denver-Boulder Turnpike, and on its heels, the opening of Rocky Flats in 1951. As more jobs and more growth came to the city, it became imperative to meet ever-growing water demands through the expansion of Standley Lake between 1965-1967. Once the infrastructure for real growth was in place, the city was able to focus on offering programs to its residents that would increase quality of life, and the 1970’s brought about programs that created recreational systems still in use today. Westminster is home to excellent trails, parks and open space that make it a family-oriented, establishe and pleasant community to live and grow.
